Dear Stateline Auto Ranch, Thank you for your generous donation to our Fruitland, Idaho St. Lukes Cancer Institute. While simple, these items bring tremendous comfort to our patients during some of their most difficult moments. We have appreciated your continuing community support over the past years. It is very rewarding for our staff to be able to provide something soft and comforting to help our patients relax and feel warm, cozy and cared for beyond just their medical needs. Moments like this happen every day because of your kindness. Your donation helps create a more comforting, compassionate environment for those we serve, reminding them they are not alone. Coat Off Your Back

Casa of Eastern Oregon serves 7-Oregon Counties and hundreds of Children throughout those counties. Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru believes Children need a voice and that's why we partner with this program. This year we delivered coats to kids in foster care, while it was a very heart warming experience, it was also a very good lesson in humanity. Over 500 Children are assigned to cases in these seven counties with thousands of volunteer hours so their voices can be heard. These beautiful children range from new born to 18-years old, all different ethnic backgrounds, and all with circumstances that left them in a rough situation. The Auto Ranch crew helped set up and organize the coats by sizes, helped fit kids to the correct coat size and participated in some fun activities with them. At one point a 16-year old male came in and unfortunately we did not have his coat size, we immediately offered to go buy him one. He was super shy, he had come from a ranch environment and really didn't want us to go shopping for him. The General Manager from Stateline Auto Ranch was there and recognized this kid was from farm or ranch environment by his attire, he could see the sadness/disappointment in this young mans eye. What we all witnessed next was an act of complete and utter selflessness. The General Manager was wearing a brand new western style coat, he casually cleaned out his pockets, took his coat off and gave it to this young man, and said "looks like it fits you perfectly". The young boy did not know how to respond or how to accept it, acts of love and kindness are rare with these kids and he had no idea how to handle it. His guardian was with him and pulled him aside to reassure him it was okay to take it. This was truly a moment of inspiration, respect, love and kindness. The world needs more people in it that would be willing to give the coat off their back to a child in need.

Fruitland High School Loves Learning

"Thank you, Subaru, for your donation to my PE class. This year I was able to purchase additional badminton racquets to finish replacing old ones that I had to surplus. The students really enjoy the badminton unit and the new racquets make them excited to play. I was also able to purchase a new set of portable goals that I will be able to use for a variety of activities. This year the students have really enjoyed playing soccer, so these goals will provide them with the proper equipment to be able to play multiple games of soccer at a time. Being able to play multiple games at a time makes teams smaller and increase the level of participation for the students. I am grateful to have received the Subaru grant this year to continue to replace old PE equipment and get new items that will help provide students the opportunity to participate in activities that they are interested in. Thank you, Subaru"! Aubrey Wright Fruitland High School PE

Dog Adoption

"This is our 2nd year partnering with Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru for our dog adoption. They always provide some awesome gifts to potential families adopting dogs. They have been a fabulous partner with us and have asked us to do other events that are not necessarily related to this specific event. We can't wait to work with them again". "One of our deaf dogs, Summer, was adopted during this event. Her adopter, a Subaru employee, had spent several hours trying to reach her landlord to find out if she could have another dog before making a commitment. She had seen Summer at other events and fallen in love with her. Surprised that Summer still hadn't been adopted, she felt it was fate. After hours with no response, she finally said, "if he won't allow another dog, then I'll just move"! That's real commitment and her Subaru dealership even covered the adoption fee. Summer is now thriving in her new home". Charlie Prentiss, President CASPR – Canine and Special Pet Rehoming

Henry's Halloween

I grew up in a small rural town about 15 miles east of Fruitland, Idaho, surrounded by cows, fields, trucks and tractors. As far as preforming arts goes, my school had a pep band and a choir. I learned to play the Saxophone, Trumpet and Guitar, but as I grew older the preforming arts slowly left my life. The rural landscape that I grew up in has not changed much over the years, our population is mostly cows. I applied for a job at Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru a year or so ago and am so proud to be a part of that family. Stateline Auto Ranch always goes above and beyond to participate in activities throughout our local rural communities, as well the Subaru Love Promise programs, including Share the Love. Working here has opened my eyes to how in depth business’s go to support their communities, schools and the non-profits.           In Late September, I was invited to a 1920's haunted speakeasy. Where I had the opportunity to converse and enjoy the company of the Director, Juli Draney. She had introduced me to a majority of the performers and artists, at their performing arts studio. I noticed a lot of Subaru’s in the parking lot and she confirmed that a lot of her students/attendees drove and owned Subaru’s. I called that an opportunity to tell not just the Auto Ranch Story but the Subaru Story as well. Juli had been trying to get in contact with local dealerships to help with sponsorship of their event. The dealership could showcase a few vehicles for a trunk or treat and would receive tickets to the preshow, Henrys Halloween, A rock opera ballad. I then knew that I wanted to get Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru involved by helping a new kind of charitable organization in our valley.  The big question in my mind was, how can these performers, artists and musicians make a living at this? It is hard when something we are passionate about isn’t a real job, but you depend on the money. These starving artists are passionate about performing and do it to bring joy and happiness to others.  Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru took on the sponsorship, and for me, after hearing the stories, 16 years of my love for the preforming arts returned. We participated in the trunk or treat, attended the show and even gave our customers a chance to attend the show on us. Both events were amazing! The moral to my story?  Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru went above and beyond to make my passion a reality. They helped promoted the trunk or treat and the show as well as making a cash donation to the performing arts studio. Thank you for all you do for your employees, customers and communities!

Finding My Best Friend

Last year, we at Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru had the incredible opportunity to partner with Casper Canine & Special Pet Rehoming during the Subaru Loves Pets event. It was such a rewarding experience — I even came close to taking home a small dog myself that day! So, when I heard we’d be working with this wonderful group again this year, I was beyond excited. This year after all the smaller dogs were in the park, Casper Canine brought out some of their larger dogs, and that’s when I saw her — Summer. The moment I laid eyes on her, I couldn’t help but fall instantly in love. I found out she had special needs while inquiring about her history. She is deaf, doesn’t bark and had been in foster care for a few years. Nobody wanted a dog with special needs. After just a little bit of consideration (and I mean very little), I knew she was meant to come home with me. Bringing Summer home has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. She fit right into our little family from day one. As a single mom to an amazing young boy, it warmed my heart to see him with his four-legged best friend. It felt like it was finally time for me to have one of my own — and now I do. Our family also includes Jackson, our boxer, who is mostly blind. Summer is deaf, but together they make the perfect team. She sees for him, and he hears for her. They’ve even developed their own way of communicating — gentle nudges and playful gestures. I was told that Summer doesn’t bark, but that’s definitely changed! She’s found her voice and uses it to let me know exactly what she needs. Just the other day, she couldn’t find me and decided to stand in the center of the house where she could see every direction. She barked a few times, and when I popped my head around the corner, she spotted me and came running. She’s my shadow now — always by my side — and I can’t imagine life without her. I’m so grateful for Charlie at Casper Canine & Special Peet Rehoming, who cared for Summer until we were able to meet. A special thank you to Stateline Auto Ranch who wanted to make sure that Summer had a forever home, they paid my adoption fee and sent us home with a Subaru new pet kit. Thank you to everyone at Casper Canine, Summer found her forever home — and I found my best friend.

Unexpected Surprise

The day was a typical day, class was beginning and the students getting their class supplies ready. The door opened and in walked an office aid with a big purple box. I had no idea what it was but then I opened it, I got a smile on my face. A box full of basic classroom supplies!! The general community member probably has no idea how important the basics are to a teacher. The pencils, pens, markers, sticky notes, and so much more! Thanks for investing in education!

Meals On Wheels

One of my favorite Subaru Events is, Subaru Share The Love. It’s an opportunity to tell a great story about generosity, gratitude and Love. With four national charities and over 825 local hometown charities Subaru—GIVES! Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru in Fruitland, Idaho has chosen Malheur County Meals on Wheels as their local charity. All year Stateline Auto Ranch supports Meals on Wheels, by providing employee volunteers to deliver meals in their Subaru’s, helping with additional fund raising events and giving support to the staff and other volunteers at MCOA. On Monday, Stateline Auto Ranch presented Malheur County Meals on wheels with their check for $10,865.00, during a noon luncheon event put on by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce. It was the perfect audience to tell the Subaru Share the Love Event story too. In attendance were many local Business Owners, General Managers and marketing departments, from a variety of different businesses. I like to believe that every business gives with an attitude of gratitude and every recipient receives with that same gratitude. Thank you Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru and Subaru of America for making it possible to feed more of our Senior Citizens.

Cancer Changes Lives

Cancer is more than just the “C” word. It’s life changing, not only for the patient but for their family, friends and even their pets. This is a story of one patient we’ll call Sue (to respect her privacy) and how her determination, will to beat it, brought us to her aid. I have known Sue since she was a little girl full of beauty, inside and out. She had more energy than most kids and just wanted to explore all life had to offer. I watched her as she grew up and entered middle school and some where along the line lost track of her. Jump a head 10 years or so, she was now working at our dealership as a service advisor. During her time here, she had a beautiful baby, life was good for her, until it wasn’t. She had some struggles, started a new job and then came the diagnosis, “you have cancer”. She stopped by to see me well into her treatments, she had lost her long beautiful jet black hair and her most importantly her confidence. Her head covered with a stocking cap and tears rolling down her face, all I could do was hug her and reassure her she was so very loved. I encouraged her to embrace all the changes in her life and ask for help when she needed it. Then good new came, she finally got the ALL CLEAR, but was it. Months later more bad new it was back, this has been her life for the last few years, “your cancer free, no wait, it’s back in new places”. She finally reached out and ask me for help. A friend had given her a 6-month old Belgian Malinois, it had not been socialized around people or other pets. She asked if I knew someone who could help socialize her dog. I took on this challenge, enlisting the help of my son and discovered quickly the amount of time, patients and resources it was going to take to work with this high energy dog, but we made it happen. Today, Sue is still fighting the battle with active cancer cells, taking care of her young child, maintaining her home, asking for help and enjoying a high energy dog, that can be calmly walked. The messages of hope, blankets and art-kits that Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru delivered to St. Lukes Cancer Center is truly a blessing for so many people with similar stories. Don’t be afraid to take on an “Ask” even if you think it’s bigger than you. People going through cancer treatment need a helping hand and sometimes the smallest things will make the biggest difference. Thank you Subaru of American and Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru, not only for the donations but for the awareness you bring to patients through Subaru Loves To Care!

Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru Supports CASA of Eastern Oregon, Inc.

Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Mountain Home, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 01/24/2025, Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru donated 120 shoes/socks to CASA of Eastern Oregon, Inc.. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.

Subaru and Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru Donate Nearly $11K to Ontario's Meals on Wheels

Subaru of America, Inc. and Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru have once again demonstrated their commitment to the community by donating $10,865 to the Malheur Council on Aging as part of their annual "Share The Love" event. This generous contribution will provide thousands of hot, nutritious meals for local seniors through the Meals on Wheels program. The donation is poised to significantly enhance the well-being of Ontario's elderly population, ensuring they receive the nourishment they need. The "Share The Love" event is a long-standing Subaru tradition that supports a variety of local and national charities, with a specific focus on organizations dedicated to providing essential services to those in need. Both Stateline Auto Ranch and Subaru are thrilled to support the Malheur Council on Aging through their "Share The Love" event and are pleased to know that their efforts will provide vital meals to seniors in the community. Boys & Girls Club

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Western Treasure Valley are very near and dear to our hearts. With a clubhouse in three of the communities we serve, they provide a safe (emotionally & physically), nutritious and learning environment for kids from all walks of life. It was such an honor to financially help with their annual fundraiser and auction this year. Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru, sponsored a table, provided auction items and sent employees to bid, buy and socialize at their premier annual fundraiser. Their mission: To inspire and empower youth and teens through safe and impactful programs so they will reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. The clubs have served over 3,600 children since they opened in 2009 and in Payette, Idaho in 2018. Their goal is to continue to serve more kids and teen in the Payette, Fruitland & Weiser, Idaho areas as well as the Vale & Ontario, Oregon region, as time goes on. The board of directors, staff and volunteers work very hard to keep the overhead costs low to provide services to any kid that will participate. For only $40.00 you can provide nine months of after-school programs and meals for a child or for $60.00 you would be providing an entire summer, full days of programs, meals, field trips and more, to one child. It’s a great program for any business or citizen to invest in. Being a part of giving a positive influence to a child’s life is the most rewarding gift anyone could ask for.

Summer Fires

Hundreds of thousands of acres burned in the summer of 2024 in Eastern Oregon and Southwest Idaho. Summer fires are not uncommon and you hear about them on the news from all across the world. We hear about the immediate needs and what you can do to help in that moment. But what about the long term effect of wild land fires? Pictures and the news feeds are a small glimpse into how scary these fires are. I was traveling on I-84, at night, when one of these fires jumped the freeway and just about trapped me. Luckily I had a friend with me to help keep me calm as we drove through the thick smoke and flames on both sides. The smoke was so thick I could barely see the tail lights from the BLM truck in front of me, I made it through without incident. My mind raced just knowing how much danger and destruction was happening in front of my eyes. Every ounce of ground was burning and it wasn’t slowing down. The sagebrush that is home to so many birds and rodents, burned. The trees that provide shade and oxygen for the herds of wilds horses, grazing cattle and wild life, burned. The native grass that is summer feed, not only to benefit livestock and wild life but it’s the feed ranchers depend on to maintain their herds, burned. For weeks the citizens living in Eastern Oregon and SW Idaho did whatever they could to protect their homes, property, range land and livestock. Unfortunately the losses from these fires were devastating. The replacement cost is unknown, but history has taught us that mother nature will help us take care of the lands. This year Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru and some of it’s employees helped replant trees and sagebrush in some of those burned areas. It was a very rewarding weekend and time well spent. We encouraged people to reserve a tree during our Subaru Loves The Earth event and plant it in one of our many communities where the trees had burned last summer. This brought awareness to so many people that one tree will make a difference. We had a great turn out for our trees event and every tree got planted. Our communities have a long way to go before the scared landscape is back to flourishing growth but with so many great people and business helping, it can be done.

Shoes & Socks for Kids in Foster Care

Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru reached out to our community to help collect new shoes and socks for kids in foster care in Eastern Oregon. We used a lot of traditional and non-traditional resources to get the word out about the Keep Kids Warm Program. All the donations received, shoes, socks, snacks etc. were passed on the Eastern Oregon CASA. There are over 200 kids in foster care in the Eastern Oregon counties. The kids were over the top excited to get new shoes and socks. The giggles that filled the room warmed every heart. Kids would put there shoes on and run yelling “look how fast I can run now”. We had shoes and socks for over 40 kids every child left with new shoes but one teenager that we had made arrangements for to get him new shoes and socks. This was a great partnership for Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru, Eastern Oregon CASA and for the communities in Eastern Oregon. We had over a dozen volunteers come out to help and everyone of them engaged with families and kids. If you are looking for a place to volunteer check out your local CASA program. It is a life changing program.

Senior Citizen Adoption

As generations pass and the new generation takes over we forget those who started our communities, those who served our country and those volunteers who kept many non-profit services going. The employees at Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru have deep roots to the communities they serve and they love recognizing and talking about who started what and how their family was a part of it. (Whatever “it” may be). Giving back is very important to us, but during the holiday season we all recognize a group of our past leaders who can no longer engage with their communities, most don’t have families to be with and a lot of them will not receive a Christmas card or gift. For the past few years Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru has adopted Senior Citizens, living in assisted living facilities or nursing homes, for Christmas. This year was no exception and we made it bigger and better than ever. Grace Assisted Living currently has 50 residents and as a team we all agreed that each resident should have at least one gift for Christmas . The staff at Grace asked each resident to identify one thing they really wanted for Christmas. Many wanted warm soft bright colored blankets, one wanted a pair of shoes, one wanted a remote control race car and of course everyone wanted Christmas candy. We had three very special requests from three Army Veteran’s. They were not only very emotional ask’s they were hard to find. Each one wanted a different piece of apparel (A Jacket, A Hat, A Special Shirt) that was official and said “I Am An Army Veteran”. We were able to find each of them the unique veteran items they asked for and more. It was very special to acknowledge our veterans and give them so many special gifts and memorabilia this Christmas! With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season people over look those who are no longer independent, living on their own and it is sad in a way and yet very satisfying to know these Seniors are safe and can enjoy the Christmas Season. We made a giving tree that was decorated and displayed tags on it, with the room number of each resident and the gift they had asked for. We promoted it to the public and invited customers to stop by and get a tag, buy a gift or help wrap. It was a great way to engage customers with our community and our employees. Every employee at Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru participated in buying gifts, wrapping them and of course delivery. A group of us left the dealership, loaded a couple Subaru’s and headed to Grace Assisted Living to deliver gifts. It took us about an hour to get all the gifts arranged and help with the last minute things the staff at Grace Assisted Living needed. They had the best party ever! It has been said we will revisit our childhood and this was definitely one of those events. Santa Clause was there to hand out all the gifts and the residents enjoyed a great holiday meal with all the fixings, decorations and the sing a long holiday songs.

Coat Drive for Grizzly Country

Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru is located in Fruitland, Idaho a small rural country community of around 6,000 people. We are very proud of our school and all our Grizzlies! November/December 2024 Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru partnered with the Fruitland Grizzly Corridor to gather new (and gently used) coats, gloves and hats for kids of all ages. The Fruitland Grizzly Corridor is a small donation center to support our community. They have school uniform clothing for all ages, coats, shoes, food and school supplies. They are only open Monday and Wednesday’s when school is in session. This is it’s first full year in operation and they have found the need is bigger than first anticipated. We set out to gather one hundred youth coats and passed that goal in the first week. We continued promoting donations for the next two weeks and had a great response from the employees and their families, our community and coats purchased by Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru. As we filled the donation box we called Fruitland Grizzly Corridor to come pick up the donations, so they could get them out quickly, due to their limited schedule. Every time the box was filled it spread a little more love in the dealership with employees and customers. Nobody should have to weather the cold temperatures. When a child get’s chilled it weakens their immune system and can lead to many different illnesses that the body can’t fight off. Stateline Auto Ranch is committed to helping families keep kids healthy which in turn keeps more kids in school and parents at work. Hundreds of coats, gloves and hats were donated for kids and adults over the coarse of three weeks. Stateline Auto Ranch stepped up paying for all the advertising for this promotion, purchasing much needed coats and encouraging their employees to participate, in line with the Subaru Love Promise, HEART.

Dog Adoption

Saturday, October 12th was a big day at Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru. Both sides of the dog park was filled with loveable, wonderful dogs looking for a forever home. We had small, med, large, puppies and special needs dogs available from 10am to 2pm all ready for their new family. We were able to adopt out 17 on Saturday with 4 more going out the following week. What a successful and fun event. The Stateline staff is amazing, they were engaged, greeting everyone who came in, accepting donations, directing people and calling friends/family that they thought would want to adopt a dog, this enthusiasm created a high energy atmosphere. Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru promoted the event using social media, posting pictures of all the dogs, (posts were shared by employees) posters went out to over 500 people, radio ads ran heavy the week before and Living in the news.com promoted it and came out to do live interviews (with over 19/k followers). Everyone involved encouraged people to bring in donations and they were accepted and displayed at the dealership. CASPR Rescue had volunteers helping with the crowds of people wanting to know more about the dogs and helping to get them matched with good families to adopt. One puppy that was adopted was named Tennessee, he was a special needs Blue Heeler (Deaf). The lady who adopted him was in need of a companion. Tennessee immediately went to her and would not leave her side, he picked his new family and she couldn’t have been happier. It was instant love. The CASPR volunteer had to teach her the sign language that Tennessee spoke and offered to make her a video so she could communicate with him. Watching the two of them bond was a great feeling. We also had Stephanie’s Canine Massage set up giving free massages to adoptable dogs or you could bring your dog from home. Every dog adopted received a dog bed, a Subaru Loves Pets new dog bag and a Chewbaroo. CASPR Rescue and rehoming accepts a lot of special needs dogs and seeks out qualified volunteers to foster them until they find approved families to adopt them. We are planning to do another adoption event at Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru in the near future to help match families with their new four legged members.

Thanks you for your commitment to K-12 Education.

Dear Stateline Autoranch Subaru, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for the generous $500 grant awarded to my Science classroom at Fruitland High School. Your support is invaluable and will significantly enhance the learning experience for my students. With these funds, I will be able to purchase essential consumable supplies that are critical for my science classes. Your contribution not only alleviates the financial burden on my personal resources but also ensures that my students have access to the materials they need to explore and learn effectively. I deeply appreciate the commitment that Stateline Autoranch Subaru shows towards K-12 education. Your efforts truly make a difference in the lives of students and educators alike, and I am grateful to have your support. Thank you once again for believing in the importance of education and for investing in our future. Chad Arnzen Fruitland High School

Meals on Wheels

Festival of Trees in Ontario, Oregon celebrated 35 years of providing funds for two very worthy causes. "Malheur Council on Aging Meals on Wheels" provides meals for the ill, homebound and elderly population in our communities. We are the only fundraiser for this program, without the funds provided from this event the program could possibly be discontinued. Eighty percent of the funds we raise benefits the Meals on Wheels Program. "Help Them to Hope" provides gifts and food for the less fortunate in our area during the holiday season. As there are other fundraisers for this cause, twenty percent of the funds we raise benefits Help Them to Hope. As a business owner, I knew this could only be successful if we, the committee, could recruit other business's and their employees, organizations and community members, to help. Every year we face a variety of challenges, yet every year miracles happen and our event is more successful than the previous year. 2023 was no exception! We had to reach out to secure more volunteers to decorate trees, to create wreaths, help with refreshments, sell raffle tickets, be a greeter, be a cashier, help with Santa and Mrs. Claus and childrens activities, and the list goes on. Fortunately for us, volunteers came from Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru! What an amazing group of people who are willing to step up and volunteer. Each one drove a new Subaru to our event and told the Subaru Share the Love story and how their hometown charity is Malheur Council on Aging Meals on Wheels Program. This is the perfect partnership as the majority of the money is raised is for this program! During the monthly luncheon forum of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru employees presented their check from Subaru Share the Love Event to representatives of the Malheur Council on Aging Meals on Wheels Program. It was beyond impressive to see the enthusiasm and excitement from them as they presented a check in the amount of $11,075! Such an outstanding job telling the Subaru Love story and answering questions from other business owners in attendance. The one big statement made was the statement to each person in that room to allow their employees to volunteer for such a great cause and event. Juan Hernandez is a sales professional at Stateline, he is also a volunteer delivery drive for Meals on Wheels. He talked about his "Seniors" he encounters on his route and sometimes he is the only person the person they will talk with that day. He calls it his regular check in and check on for the people who built our communities. He believes with all his heart in giving back and this is something he teaches his son. It is great to have the younger generation volunteering and teaching the next generation how rewarding it is to give back and help others. Way to go Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru and Subaru of America! Sincerely, Debbie Blackaby, FOT Chairman

Cancer Does Not Discriminate

Cancer does not discriminate! Cancer is not one size fits all! Cancer is not just a word! We are all affected by this cruel disease in one way or another. The Auto Ranch Group of Dealerships have not been excluded from this awful disease. We have had many employees, past and present, diagnosed with many different types of cancer. We have had those who couldn’t beat it, those who are currently in treatment and those who are in remission. We all become a type of caregiver, because our co-workers are our family, after all you spend as much time with them at work as you do at home. Individually, we process what we are going through and look to the closest smile for support in that moment. Preventative screening is so important, and a lot of people need it explained several times in different ways. Once a year most employers have an annual meeting to go over their new health insurance plan then open enrollment happens and then it becomes a simple check deduction. As a group we encourage each other, often, to take advantage of our health insurance and get every wellness screening that is recommended. Allowing employees to discuss the insurance process and keeping it at the forefront of daily awareness encourages each other to make the appointment and not put it off. Making our Subaru donation to the St. Lukes Cancer Institute in Fruitland Idaho was very emotional for our employees. We understand the compassion and love these folks have for our family and friends. Thank you, St. Lukes Cancer institute, Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru and Subaru of America for your Love and Hope for a Cancer Free Future.

Lunch with Charlie and Oscar

My name is Charlie and I want to tell you about a very important part of my life. I hate to admit this but at 85 I just don't get around as well as I used to. I can't drive anymore or really leave my house. My yellow Lab, Oscar is my best friend. He is a rescue dog but we all know that means he actually rescued me. Today, we are waiting for noon when I get meals delivered by Sally from MCOA. Oscar gets excited too, he can hardly wait for her ear scratches and latter a few leftover treats. I love Sally's smile and how it seems to light up the whole neighborhood. Sometimes, she is the only person I see all week. I wanted to give a big thank you to The Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru for their generous donations to this program. This program does so much for Oscar and I!

Supporting Our Senior Community

The Malheur Council on Aging had the honor of meeting with our partners at Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru on May 14, 2024 to receive their donation of $11,075. for our Home Delivered Meals Program. We deliver hot nutritious meals to seniors in Malheur County who are housebound and have a very limited access to food. Without the connection and support of their community these seniors suffer from nutritional issues and a lack of connection which can create depression and physical health issues. Our friends at Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru have demonstrated their long term commitment and support to our meal program for the last four years. Their donation from the Love's Promise Campaign this year exceeded previous years by four times!! These funds will be used to purchase 2700 meals to strengthen and support our seniors. Thank you Subaru for making a real difference in our community !!!

Cold Night

It was a cold Friday night, I was having dinner with some friends, when one of them received a text (we’ll call her Sarah) and she told us she had to go. A child was in trouble and she was needed. The rest of us finished up and headed home. Saturday I called Sarah and checked on her and asked if there was anything I could do to help. She explained some kids had been neglected, and DHS was called in to take custody of the siblings. It’s a very sad, but frequently told story. Sarah is a volunteer for CASA and she and her family are foster parents. Personally knowing her and her family, I have heard the stories of how hard it is to have the patience, knowledge and money to take kids in. They are amazing, giving people. When she told me the kids were found with no coats, no shoes or socks, and very few personal items. I quickly made the call to round up some new things for the kids. Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru had their “Subaru Loves To Help” display still up with several new coats on it. It was amazing that the coats that were left, were actually the exact sizes these kids needed. We were able to help this family with some much need items and hopefully give the kids a little bit of hope and security. I believe when your heart is open, miracles happen, the coats that were selected for the display were not just any coats, they were meant to be given to these kids. Thank you Subaru and Operation Warm.

Giving Back

As soon as October rolls around so does the hustle and bustle of the Holiday Season and the “Season Of giving”. Festival of Trees takes the effort and energy of a lot of volunteers. The money raised goes to Help Them To Hope and Meals On Wheels. Two very important programs in our communities. Every year new volunteers are needed and this year was no exception. In the spirit of giving Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru in Fruitland, not only provided an employee to help decorate trees, they sponsored a tree, and also offered us a three hundred dollars service gift certificate to be used as a random drawing for all the individuals who came out and volunteered. It made all the volunteers feels very appreciated. It’s not often anyone does something special for those who volunteer. Afterall when you are a true volunteer, you have no expectation of anything in return. Closing day a couple trees still had not sold. One call to Auto Ranch and one more tree was sold. Businesses get hit hard to donate money, supplies or lend a helping hand, especially during the holiday season. Stateline Auto Ranch is truly a community minded business. A big thank you to all there great employees and great ownership for the support they provide to their communities.

Snow Delivery

Wednesday, January 17, 2024 started out cold, snowy and ice on the roads. I knew we had our Subaru Loves to Help event at 3pm that afternoon. I arrived at the dealership at 7:00am and began shoveling snow off the side walk and front entry. As employees arrived early, everyone had a role, helping to clean snow off our vehicles, move vehicles, and then watch our snow plow do its job. When we set the date for our event, we had three volunteers to help with the delivery and to process the coats (it was warm and dry then). It was very disappointing to our staff when I had to tell them the recipient had just cancelled and wanted to reschedule, and maybe just do a drop off. As a team, we all felt very strongly that this had to happen today, it was to cold and wet to even think about someone without a coat. As the day went on and the snow continued to fall along with the Artic temperatures, I continued to communicate with our recipient program director and at 2pm we decided to keep the event. As we opened the boxes and our employees held the coats, they became very excited and now everyone wanted to help. Something about the cold and snow that brings “love” to its fullest. We had people in need calling the dealership asking if we would still do the event as they were in desperate need of a coat(s) for their kid(s). WICAP, our recipient had also been receiving calls asking if we were still going to do the event and have coats available. So, in the spirit of “love” our Subaru Team pulled two Subarus up and we started loading the boxes. It was an AMAZING experience for everyone throughout our dealership. We loaded six employees and made the 12-mile drive on icy, snowy roads to our delivery destination, unloaded the boxes, unpacked the coats and began fitting kids & adults of all ages with their new coat. What a great feeling it was to give such a small thing that we take for granted every day. The next time you step outside in single digit wet temperature leave your coat inside as a reminder that something as small as a coat could literally save a life. Thank you to the team at Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru for stepping up in awful weather conditions, to Subaru of American and Operation Warm for this act of humanity.

Old Man Earp

Earlier this summer, we had the privilege of having a dog we named Earp come into our shelter. He was abandoned in the back country of our county and left to fend for himself. Earp is a beautiful overweight blue heeler with so much love to give. He was estimated at about 10-11 years old. He became our yard dog and hung out under the trees all summer getting all the love and attention he wanted but nobody would adopt him. Fast forward to our Subaru Loves Pets adoption event and we had people fighting over him. Four different families wanted to make him theirs. After some careful consideration; we picked his PERFECT home! We cannot thank Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru enough for their dedication to our dogs and helping us find perfect homes for them.

Dog Adoption 2023

Subaru Loves Pets—Dog Adoption 2023! What is the underdog? Is it the handicapped dog, the misunderstood dog or is it what we make it? October 14th Stateline Auto Ranch held it’s annual dog adoption with Ani-Care Animal Shelter. In addition to the dog adoption we had a BBQ and set up a dog dress-up photo booth. Customers could bring their dogs dressed up and get their pictures taken. We have supported this particular shelter for many years because it is a true no-kill shelter. In our rural area we have a problem with people who dump dogs along side the road (these are our underdogs). Not only does this become a traffic hazard but it becomes expensive for homeowners who try to help re-home someone else's dog. Ani-Care Animal shelter has always been very receptive to taking these dogs and using their social media support system to get them into loving homes. This year we had 2-underdogs out of the seven we adopted out that day. Both of these dogs were older larger dogs that nobody wanted. The employees at Stateline Auto Ranch used their personal connections to get both these dogs adopted into forever homes. What a win! But the real success is this little boy, in the picture. He lives with his grandparents / great grandparents (not exactly sure), but he needed a campion. This little boy fell in love with this puppy and the puppy with him, it was an absolute bond that made your heart melt. We made sure he had a picture of himself with his puppy, food to get him started, a new adoption bag and set up his vet appointment to get the puppy fixed when it turns six months old. I have been in contact with his grandfather and what a difference this one puppy has made in a little boys life. We are looking forward to next year and having our dog dress-up photo booth back, it was a huge success.

Thank your from Fruitland High School

I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for Stateline Subaru's generous grant of $500.00. Your support has impacted my science education program, benefiting my students and our institution. Thanks to your generous grant, I obtained lab equipment for my chemistry and physics classes. This equipment has enhanced the quality of our scientific experiments and allowed our students to gain hands-on experience, which is invaluable for their learning. Additionally, your grant enabled me to purchase much-needed classroom supplies, which are fundamental for my students to practice and refine their scientific skills. These supplies have created a dynamic and engaging learning environment, fostering curiosity and a love for science. Once again, thank you for your generosity and dedication to education. Your contribution has made a lasting impact, and I am sincerely grateful for your partnership in our educational journey.

Science Classroom Grant

Dear Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks for the $500 dollar grant and the box of consumables in which to use in my classroom. Your kind donation has made a significant impact on my classroom and students, and I truly appreciate it. Your donation to my class has allowed me to purchase some high quality compasses to use for an earthquake epicenter lab, orienteering compasses to use with an orienteering unit and soil sifting screens to use in Earth Science and Dual Credit Environmental Science. Receiving a financial boost to a classroom is always appreciated and allows me to expand labs and classroom instruction with hands-on activities. Thank you once again for your $500 dollar grant. It will allow me to enhance instruction with more hands- on activities in the classroom. Thanks for your generosity, Chad Arnzen Science Teacher Fruitland High School

Loves to Care

Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru Loves to Care: What a great day for Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru! We delivered blankets, art kits and cards of hope to St. Alphonsus Hospital, Ontario, Oregon, for cancer patients. For the past eight years, Subaru has partnered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society®(LLS) to support blood cancer patients on their road to recovery. It was such an honor for the employees of Stateline Auto Ranch to help members of our community who are battling cancers with the donation of 80 blankets, cards of hope (from our employees and customers) and art kits. The St. Alphonsus staff invited our employees to share in a fabulous BBQ they were hosting at their cafeteria. They were so grateful for the donation, friendship and love. The donation of warm blankets and messages of encouragement is just one way Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru strives to be more than a car dealer for the Western Treasure Valley.

Meals on Wheels

Senior citizens all over the world struggle with hunger, many live in isolation and many live in or near poverty. This is a community problem that becomes more serious as our senior population grows. Families are spread out and elders are left behind, often struggling to remain self-sufficient. Malheur Council on Aging is our local program that provides meals to our senior citizens. I took the time to find out how their process works, what is the intake process and how meals are delivered. Part of that process is a nutrition analysis to make sure each senior receives meals based on their individual health needs. This could be the only nutritional meal they will have. Home delivery is not for everyone, some senior citizens need socializing, in addition to a hot meal. MCOA offers an affordable cafeteria style hot meal as well. They have volunteers that will pick seniors up at their home, take them to the cafeteria so they enjoy a hot meal and get to talk with others, then volunteers return them home. Malheur County, Oregon is a population of almost 32,000 spread out over hundreds of rural miles. This year MCOA partnered with the Oregon Food Bank Southeast Oregon Services to deliver meals to a very rural community, Jordan Valley, Oregon. This partnership is a valuable asset to help feed our senior population in that community. With out it, those senior citizens would go without or rely solely on neighbors to help them with meals. There is never enough government money to meet the food needs of these individuals. The money raised by Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru and Subaru of America will provide over 3,800 meals. I encourage everyone to VOLUNTEER. There are so many ways you can help, just a few hours a month to help deliver meals, give a few hours to be present and visit with seniors or make meals on wheels a part of your financial giving. In a lot of cases the only outside, in person contact our Senior Citizens have is with those who volunteer.

Homelessness

The homeless numbers in our area are pushing 300 individuals. This includes, elderly, veterans and kids. For some, homelessness is a choice but for the majority it’s unforeseen circumstances. In our area the homeless will set up camps along the Snake River, under bridges, in parks and some just sleep with their bags of stuff on the sidewalk. The socks we delivered were desperately needed, and will help bring warmth and comfort to someone in need. We have organizations that come together to provide necessities to those experiencing homelessness. Community in Action is our partner. Their staff works very hard to find solutions to many issues that surround the homeless population. It’s very easy to get caught up in one’s own life and forget that there is a homeless population. Before our staff delivered the boxes of socks to Community in Action, we took the time to talk about the homeless situation, that we are all a part of, after all, it is our community, it is our responsibility to help. Every employee has witnessed someone in need, we all have our personal experiences and stories about encounters we have had and how we helped. One story stood out, not to tell someone else’s story, but, one of our employees talked about a situation he encountered. He was on his way home from work one night and stopped at a local restaurant to eat. As he left through the back door he noticed someone laying under a piece of tin near a small building covered by an old tarp. He walked over to check on the person and found a homeless man lying there. He asked the man if he was okay or if he needed help. The man replied, yes, I’m okay, just hungry. He told the man he would be back. Without even thinking about it he went back into the restaurant and order food and a soft drink to take out to the man. When he returned the man was still there under the tarp, he was very grateful for the hot meal and a drink. My co-worker did not brag about what he had done, nor did he tell us this story until others started talking about what they had done. It took a lot to drag the story out of him. He told us, “I don’t do things for recognition, I do them because it’s the right thing to do.” I don’t know about anyone reading this, but these are the types of co-workers I want to work with. I am very proud to be a part of giving and very proud to work at a Subaru Dealership with such fantastic people. I end with a quote from Sally Koch. “Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day.”

Hitchcock Station / Random Act of Kindness

Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru in Fruitland, Idaho was happy to participate in National Random Acts of Kindness Day. Our employees fought over who got to wear the blue “Subaru Loves To Help Socks,” we made it a fun day. Those who completed a random act of kindness received a pair of socks and are pictured above. One of our many acts of kindness: We put a couple swag bags together as a welcome for a new business, to our sweet little town and a few of us headed off to greet and explore this new business. The building was built in 1924 and has been home to many different businesses over the years in Fruitland it’s called the Hitchcock Building. It was originally a service station and now it’s a historic landmark repurposed as a contemporary, yet classic, eatery. We went early hoping to deliver our bags to the employees before they got too busy, but it was packed by the time we got there. We did get our “Gifts & Congratulations” message to the new owner and his staff, and a round of applause from their other customers. We were very successful in bringing many smiles to a lot of people and enjoyed a great atmosphere and fantastic burgers, fries and milk shakes, in this very unique restaurant. If you are ever in Southwest Idaho, specifically Fruitland, this is a must try delight, it’s called Hitchcock Station. The burgers, fries and milk shakes are a 10 out of 10!

Fruitland High School Loves Learning

It was so much fun to deliver supplies to the classrooms we adopted at Fruitland High School. The teachers, students and administrators were all very grateful. As all the teachers gathered and shared the supplies, we delivered it was like kids in a candy shop, they could not believe all the boxes of stuff we delivered. Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru is fortunate to have a school district full of teachers who are true leaders, not only in their classrooms but in the community. We all work together to spread the word when a classroom has a need and find a win win solution. In the small center picture two of the items were made in Mrs. Grimes art class. She has some very creative students who made the camera and building from cardboard and packing paper. Her art class is filled with very talented students who just need some extra simple supplies. After visiting her classroom and seeing all the creative art, we starting looking around at what we had that could help. All our flat cardboard and packing paper that comes to the dealership is now saved and used in her classroom. Our employees also looked around their homes and found great items that were a hit. Such as: left-over tile from a remodel, extra hand sander, left-over paint, old window frames, and much more. When it’s time to spring clean, we encourage everyone to look at what they are throwing out or donating and consider it’s use at the school. We will continue to encourage our teachers, not just from our adopted classrooms, but every grade level to lean on us for ideas and help with projects that will inspire their students to be successful.

Adopt A Senior Citizen In Assisted Living

The kick-off to the holiday season began for Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru with a joint venture. November 17th, the kick-off of the Subaru Share The Love Event and Festival Of Trees! Both programs help Malheur County Meals On Wheels. This year while volunteering at Festival Of Trees, I had a great conversation with a lady named Cheryl. She shared some very enlightening information about senior citizens living in assisted living. Every year holidays come and go for these individuals, many without any visitors and any kind of holiday recognition. The Auto Ranch Group has always tried to do something for residents at an assisted living facility by visiting or sending something to bring a little joy to their life. This year we came together as a Subaru staff and decided to spread the word about a specific assisted living facility in one of our communities that had a giving tree set up at another local business. We encouraged our friends and family to get a name from the giving tree and buy Christmas presents for that resident. We supported Cheryl's mission to provide gifts for every resident in the facility. We were informed it was successful and every resident will get a gift. The employees at Stateline Auto Ranch adopted five of these well deserving senior citizens and began shopping for them. Each tag had three or four Christmas wish items on them. The things we take for granted every day are the things they asked for. Things like scented body soap, scented lotion, after shave, perfume, a new shirt or pair of pants, socks, towels and wash cloths, puzzle's, books and of course candy. Everyone went above and beyond on buying. After we fulfilled the wish lists and added a few extra things for each of our five guests' gift bags, we were able to donate to residents at another facility that have no family in the area. This was a three way win… First, volunteering at Festival Of Trees and having the opportunity to talk about the Subaru Share The Love Program. Secondly, finding a rewarding extra need in our community and fulfilling wishes of well deserving people. Thirdly, bringing our staff together, everyone participated from the wash bay-service/parts and sales. We spent a couple hours getting all the gifts organized and wrapped and signed cards. One thing Subaru has in common with the Christmas season is giving freely and giving with love. I am so proud to be an employee at such a great retailer, working with such giving people.

Subaru Loves Pets

2022 Subaru Loves Pets event has done it again with helping us find wonderful new homes for our dogs; not just at the event but word of mouth because of the event. The dogs always enjoy getting out to meet new people and smell new smells. The playpen for the dogs is always clean, the staff is always wanting to come play with the dogs. We are so grateful for this Subaru retailer to take us under their wings and help us find so many dogs new forever homes. Thank you Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru for once again going above and beyond for us and our pups!

Blanket Delivery

It was a beautiful June day and the perfect day for the staff at Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru to delivery blankets, art kits and cards of hope to cancer patients at St. Alphonsus Cancer Care Unit. Most of us have experienced first hand the effects of cancer or experienced it with a loved one, whether it was a close relative or friend. One thing we have all learned is the importance of pre-screening and wellness checks. When you get that call your heart drops and your gut becomes heavy. You really don’t know how to tell anyone you have just been diagnosed with cancer. You hear all the horror stories, the doom and gloom and you’re never sure what someone will say to you. Subaru Loves To Care is a great ice breaker, it’s a program that engages not only Subaru employees from all over, but it engages the community every time an employee tells a Subaru Love Story. It is such a privilege and honor to deliver, in person, blankets to people in our community actively going through chemotherapy. The blanks are more than a fuzzy, comfortable wrap, they are love and hope for so many people. The staff at Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru would like to thank all the care-givers who work tirelessly to help, encourage, love and take care of our family and friends. We salute all of you! Thank you for the job you have chosen to do!

Blanket Delivery

Visiting the cancer center at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Ontario, Oregon is always a very emotional experience. Most people know what cancer is and have heard the horror stories. At Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru it is important to the employees that have experienced cancer first hand, or with an immediate family member or close friend, that all our co-workers understand the importance of Subaru Loves To Care. We encourage all employees to participate, to help deliver the blankets and art kits, to see the immediate impact it has on someone else's life. This type of giving is more than just a delivery, it’s giving someone who is receiving chemotherapy treatment a break from a chill, a smile to warm their heart and most of all a card of hope. How do you explain cancer? Well, the definition of cancer is a disease in which some of the body’s cells grow uncontrollably and spread to other parts of the body. For the doctors and nurses who care so deeply for these patients every day and night “Our Hat’s Off To You!” I would ask everyone to say THANK YOU to your local cancer care teams, their jobs are some of the toughest!

Meals on Wheels

Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru presented a check to to Malheur Council on Aging/Meals on Wheels for the Subaru Share the Love / Hometown Charity Event. This money will provide and deliver 1,000 meals to senior citizens in Malheur County. Meals on Wheels allows for important interaction between staff and clients and an essential companionship to those who need someone to check in on them!

Daycare Clean Up

Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru believes in making the world a better place, that is why we came together in freezing temperatures as part of our Subaru Love Promise Community Commitment. February 19, 2022, below freezing temperatures, a new playground needed to get prepped. This is how our story went: In February we learned a local day care’s lease was not going to be renewed and they had to be out by March 15th. This day care served almost 100 families in our small community and the impact of it not being open would hurt a lot of citizens. We met with the day care owners and help organize volunteer to assist them with their new facility, from the inside / out! Our Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru employees met at 8am on Saturday morning and started cleaning the back area which will become the playground. We cleared three trailer loads of debris out of the back, cut down multiple damaged trees and cut down hundreds of stocks of bamboo. When we were finished it was a huge transformation. We found a very nice deck buried in the back along with potential area for a nice sand box and hop scotch. The owners of the day care, were not only surprised that we showed up to help, but very surprised and grateful that so many of us participated and make quick work of an overwhelming disaster. Helping any community member is what we do best at Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru and we look forward to our next community project!

Parade of Horses

The past two years have been very trying on so many people, including our elderly and shut-ins. They had very limited time in person with loved ones and friends, if they had any time at all. They were unable to attend any of the very limited community or social events that were held. I couldn’t accept the thought that there are so many who could not enjoy life as we knew it, so I came up with an idea to bring a little cheer and happiness to a few of the elderly in our community. Knowing ahead of time the weather would be cold and snowy, I passionately moved forward with my plan. I called an assisted living facility to get permission to carry it out, which they thought was a GREAT idea! I rallied my family, friends & co-workers, and had them saddle up! Yes, saddle up. We provided a private horse parade for the residents of this facility. It was a complete hit. The emotion and cheer from the windows of these residents brought tears to our eyes, it was so emotional and satisfying to bring them joy. We were allowed to ride our horses right up to the windows and allowed the residents to pet and love on our animals. As part of the Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru team, I feel it is important for everyone to give a little time to bring love and happiness to one another. This was definitely one of the best community support events we could have done for a group of individuals who committed their lives to better our futures. Thank you, Subaru for “Subaru Loves”, the focus you put on sharing the love in so many ways, and encouraging all of us to think outside our own timelines and give a little back.

Ontario Oregon Winter Shelter

Community in Action was lucky enough to be given blankets from State Line Auto Ranch Subaru. Our agency serves Malheur and Harney County and operates programs designed to alleviate poverty. These blankets were used specifically for our homeless and unstably housed individuals and families in the area. We were able to provide blankets to each person entering our Winter homeless Shelter. There they receive shelter through the winter and provided with services to assist the individual or household find stable housing and resources. A lot of these families and individuals have limited possessions so being able to provide them with blankets, food, and basic needs really helps give them hope in moving forward. Unfortunately due to limited space we are not able to provide shelter to our full homeless community. Subaru was able to provide our agency with over one hundred blankets. We have been able to provide these to anyone identifying as literally homeless and in need. This very much helps with our agencies mission and gives some ambition to move forward. We would like to thank the Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru with supporting our efforts in serving our community.

Lights on Main Street

I've lived in the area my entire life, and started work at Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru two years ago. Fruitland has always felt like a small and united community. Throughout the year they hold several community events, one of my favorites is Lights on Main Street. It reinforces that feeling of small, united community that people here have come to love. Seeing the community come together to bring Christmas Cheer and Santa to Fruitland was such a nice feeling after a long year of uncertainties. It was good to know we could rely on St. Nick to bring us together to celebrate this wonderful time of year. Seeing the kids run around gathering stamps and collecting their prizes from different businesses was heart-warming. Hearing the cheers of the children as they rode in the fire trucks all night long with Santa, is proof as to why this community is better together. The joy, laughter, and feeling truly made it feel like Christmas came early this year. Giving back is what we do best and sometimes the biggest rewards are the smallest things we achieve. This year we had the pleasure of meeting the Grinch! He stopped by our Subaru booth and tried to steal our brand new BRZ. It was our Love for the season that made his heart grow three sizes and he settled for a picture with members from the Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru Team.

Subaru Loves Pets- Ani-Care Animal Shelter, INC.

Once again, our favorite event has come and gone and we could not be happier about the outcome of the 2021 Subaru Loves Pets event. We had 13 dogs adopted with their new family telling us they heard about the event or had come to the event and had fallen in love with one of the dogs. That is amazing. Our dogs enjoy getting out to meet new people and see new sites. The playpen for the dogs is always clean, the staff LOVES to come play with the dogs and record videos of them to send to their friends and family. It is like having an event with 20 volunteers except they just work there! The goodie bags are always on point and help any new adopter transition our dogs into their homes much easier. We definetly couldn't of asked for a better Subaru Retailer to take us under their wings and help us find so many dogs new forever homes. Thank you Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru for once again going above and beyond for us and our pups!

FHS Art Class Loves Learning

Subaru Loves Learning and AdoptAClassroom Dear Subaru, My name is Deanna Grimes and I teach Art at Fruitland High School, in Fruitland, Idaho. I just wanted to write this letter to thank you for adopting one of my art classes. Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru has made this a wonderful experience. The Subaru Loves Learning Program with AdoptAClassroom was a very generous donation for my students. I teach just over 140 students, grades 9th-12th, in Art 1, Art 2, Illustration, Introduction to Design, and Direct Studies Advanced Art. Many of my students aren’t able to purchase the needed art supplies for their art class and I operate on a very limited budget. Your donation has helped me to purchase quality art supplies for my students to succeed and advance in their artistic abilities. I was able to order 17 sets of Prismacolor colored pencils, pencil sharpeners, 100 lbs of air dry clay for sculpting and ceramics, high quality charcoal paper pads, drawing pads, illustration board, and bristol paper. These much needed supplies have been such a blessing to my program and students. Thank you so much for helping me to provide for my students and support their love for Art! I hope we can be a part of this great program again next year. Sincerely, Deanna Grimes Fruitland High School Art Teacher [email protected](208) 452-4411

Subaru Loves Pets - Adoption Day 2021

Subaru Loves Pets—Adoption Day 2021! Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru hosted their dog adoption with Ani-Care Animal Shelter on Saturday, October 23rd. We had a very small break in the weather and were able to get four of the dogs adopted. Many people looking for dogs made appointments with the shelter to visit on Monday and so many generous people who have already adopted brought food, blankets and toys. Our communities are so fortunate to have a no-kill shelter that will take dogs from all over our area. Ani-Care Animal Shelter has taken care of hundreds of dogs and makes sure their shelter dogs are in good health before they leave. All dogs are spayed or neutered and all their shots are current before the shelter veterinarian signs off on them. If you have a lost dog or you are wanting to adopt one contact Ani-Care Animal Shelter in Nyssa. Serving Eastern Oregon and Southwest Idaho.

Subaru Loves Learning CWI

As part of Subaru Loves Learning, Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru reach out to the College of Western Idaho Technician Program and invited them to our dealership. CWI focuses on partnerships with franchise dealerships to ensure that they are providing the exact skills dealerships are looking for in the next generation of technicians. These young goal driven individuals come out of the program with certifications in AAS, ATC, ITC and BTC. During the visit they had an opportunity to tour the facility, equipment, service drive and a questions and answers. During the questions and answers portion of our visit we learned what’s important to career driven techs in today’s world. One of the most important to all of them was a road map to success and a support system to help them get there. Another was time flexibility, a clean and drama-free environment and a chance to grow. They understand the importance of vehicle respect, customer respect and fixing it right the first time. We were able to go through the advantages of working for the Auto Ranch but the advantage of working on Subaru’s and working in a Subaru Dealership. Subaru Loves Learning is targeted to Middle & High School students, we believe thinking outside the box and looking closer, down the road was a huge success. We accepted three applications from students wanting to enter our intern program. Our goal is to hire, pay, guide and set Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru up with completely trained and certified technicians for the future.

National Night Out

National Night Out August 3, 2021 ~ Mesa Park, Fruitland, Idaho. Nationally, this event brings our local police departments, sheriff departments and other ems into their communities to help build relations and erode common misconceptions associated with law enforcement. This year our small community was faced with a very difficult situation, as our law enforcement agencies were very busy searching for a 5-year old boy who is missing from our community. When we were asked to help make this event a success, at the very last minute our “Love Promise” team stepped up. We were there to help set up the night before and the next evening we were there to help where needed. For fourteen years I was certified with SafeKids. As part of SafeKids, I helped educate kids and adults with different child safety activities. Keeping kids safe in and around vehicles including is a big focus including bicycle safety and fitting kids to bicycle helmets. This event was a great opportunity to help our community in many ways and to reconnect with community members. Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru is always willing and prepared to step up and provide volunteer where needed.

Memorial Weekend 2021

In 2018 we met this super sweet elderly lady named Kathleen, who came into Ontario Auto Ranch Subaru to buy a brand new car. She had no idea what she wanted but stated she wanted to drive them all. Three Saturdays in a row we took her out so she could make her decision. She finally decided on a new Subaru Crosstrek. Everyone got to know her and talked to her over weeks and many visits. She shared the story of the last wishes of her late husband, and love of her life. He had survived the war, serving in the Air Force and had survived his first round with cancer. One of his last wishes before he passed away was that she would buy a brand new car so he would always know she was safe. She continues to use (now) Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru for all her service, any questions about her car or stops to just say hi. In March of 2021 she had stopped in for a tire light that had come on. The service department got her taken care of and even washed and vacuumed her Crosstrek. While she waited she talked about how the last year had been so tough and she no longer felt safe to drive very far and certainly could not drive at highway speeds. A few tears dropped as she explained how she felt the need to visit the cemetery where her late husband was buried, because she had not been able to get there the last 2-years. Our Subaru Love Promise Team put our heads together and decided that one of us would spend the Saturday before Memorial Day 2021 with her. We put a quick plan in place, but it took some convincing for her to accept our offer. We had packed water, snacks and a sturdy chair so she could sit and spend as much time as she needed there. That Saturday morning we picked her up at her home, took her to the local nursery, so she could buy flowers to decorate his site and drove her 40 miles to the cemetery. This was one of the greatest things we, as team could have done. She was overwhelmed with the generosity and the love we shared with her. She offered to pay for gas, food and our time, we just smiled and said no thank you, this is for you, we have it all covered. She was so grateful that she had such kind and caring people in her life and that she was able to purchase her Subaru Crosstrek, and fulfill her late husband’s last wishes. We plan to do this again next year and bring a little love and hope to someone who is in need.

Ani-Care Animal Shelter Dog Adoption

I want to start off by thanking you for yet again, another amazing event! We have never had so many long term dogs find their forever homes. Because of your commitment to the Subaru Loves Pets event, we were able to adopt out 35 dogs, some of which we had had for almost 2 years! This has been the craziest year we have ever had and are so thankful we were able to participate again in this year's event. Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru has the most amazing dog set up not only for people to bring their dogs while shopping but to hold events like this. We were able to free run dogs inside the play area and allow people to come in and play fetch or give snuggles to the dogs. Since covid, we have not had any volunteers at the shelter which leaves just me to give attention to the dogs. It was wonderful to see them able to play with other people and especially kids. I cannot thank Subaru and Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru enough for putting on this event and making it such a big deal. We also had a local news agency, Living in the news.com come out and were able to adopt out even more dogs after the live broadcast. People from all over were showing up and getting a hold of us to come out. Subaru's generous donation for every dog adopted will help us keep up with the piles of vet bills we have every month to ensure all dogs are fixed, microchipped, and current on immunizations. Not to mention the injured dogs that come in. You all have given me more hope than ever as we head into this frigid winter with covid restrictions. Again, I cannot thank you enough for this wonderful event that we look forward to every year. This was the most successful year we have ever had and we hope next year will be even better.

Holly Get's A Forever Home

Holly had been at Ani-Care Animal Shelter for nearly a year. She didn't have any injuries and wasn't a vicious dog, she just wanted a home and nobody seemed to want her. She had been to the vet and everything checked out perfect for her but still no interest. People would come into the shelter and leave with a dog but not with Holly. She is a very loving dog and really loves people but being an older dog it was hard to find her a home. Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru starting showcasing Holly the first part of October and inviting people to share the posts and help find her a forever home! During the National Make A Dogs Day, October 22nd, Holly got to meet a lot of people. Wearing her Subaru bandana very proudly. She pranced around and offered up lots of smiles and licks. Well, Holly finally got her forever home! She met her new human owner at Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru that Thursday. Carol had seen the posts and came in to meet her, it was love at first sight! Holly perked up and started barking as soon as Carol was walking toward the dog park. When Carol told us she was there to meet Holly we all crossed our fingers. It was a perfect match. We let Carol take Holly to a separate area to bond and it only took minutes for the two of them to fall in love. We are so happy that Holly is now settling into her new home, she is definitely the boss!

Malheur County Meals On Wheels

Malheur Council on Aging would like to express its gratitude to Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru for their generous donation of $5090.63 to our Meals on Wheels Program. This donation will purchase 1,853 meals and will serve our seniors for three weeks. Last week our program delivered 622 meals to our home bound Malheur County seniors. Although, their donation is extremely important, we know that it is only one of the many ways that Subaru has gone the extra mile to help communities. Without donations like theirs we would not be able to continue our essential services to seniors in Malheur County. This service is a lifeline for many of our community who want to remain in their homes as long as possible. This is a story of one of the many Meals on Wheels customers, her name is Bertie. She has been living alone for the last five years since her husband Hal, a Korean War Vet passed away. She is 85 years young as she would say with a smile. Before her Rheumatoid Arthritis became severe she came to the local senior center for lunches twice a week, enjoying the meals and recreation there with her friends. Sadly, she isn’t mobile enough now to drive or really leave her home. She has three grown children who live at least a day’s drive from her. Her support system is comprised of two small rescue dogs, Snickerdoodle (Snicker) and Charlie. At the beginning of each delivery, Bertie’s volunteer is greeted with a chorus of delighted yips and barks. Bertie and her volunteer have become friends during the time she has been on the program. Every delivery day, Bertie began to wait with anticipation for her meals and most of all the volunteer. They would discuss everything from world affairs to favorite recipes. One day, Bertie came to the door carrying a cupcake with a single lit candle. She said this was a small birthday token for her friend the volunteer who helped her get through each and every day since they had met.As heartwarming as these interactions are for us and our clients, they also give us a peek into the lives of those we serve and allow us to provide not just a meal, but a bit of human companionship and a watchful eye toward their health and well being. By their continued support to our community the wonderful people at Stateline Auto Ranch Subaru allow us to be part of their mission and in this way truly keep the Love Promise. Thank you Subaru for your generosity, community support and compassion for our seniors.Thank you, Sandra Shelton Malheur Council on Aging and Community Services 842 SE 1st AveOntario, Or. 97914

Stamp Out Hunger

Ontario Auto Ranch Subaru participated in Subaru’s Share the Love Hometown Charity program that ran November 2018 through January 2, 2019. In the 11 years of this “Share The Love” Event for Subaru of American, Inc. along with its retailers, we will have donated over $140 million dollars to participating charities. During the Share the Love event for every new vehicle purchased or leased, Subaru donates $250 to the purchaser’s choice of participating charities and Ontario Auto Ranch Subaru donated money as well. Today Ontario Auto Ranch Subaru presented a check to the Oregon Food Bank - Southeast Services in the amount of $6,405, which will provide thousands of meals for Malheur & Harney Counties. The Oregon Food Bank – Southeast Oregon Services supplies food to 34 partner agencies in Malheur and Harney Counties. Keeping Kids Safe In Vehicles

The 2nd Thursday of every month volunteers, along with Ontario Auto Ranch Subaru, get together at Ontario Fire Department to check children for proper fit and installation in car seats. We are available from 4pm to 6pm, checking car seats, helping and educating families from all over the Treasure Valley on proper child safety seat practices. Car seats are all different for different stages of a child’s growth. From the infant to the toddler, every seat needs to be checked for proper installation, compatibility with the vehicle, and most importantly compatibility to the child. Not all 3-month old babies can use the same car seat, but all kids need to be buckled up properly! Misuse or incorrect installation can lead to child injury or death in a crash, even if the vehicle is at a low rate of speed. Education is a big part of what we do - talking to care givers about all the simple things they can do to keep children/passengers safe in a vehicle. Although the child safety seat check is free, we do have car seats available for purchase. It takes the volunteers and certified technicians, along with community partners willing to supply us volunteers to make this happen. Thank you to some of our partners - Ontario Police Department, Ontario Auto Ranch Subaru, Ontario Fire Department, and Grow EO/Building Healthy Families!

Subaru Loves Learning

By Jessi Butterfield This August through the Subaru Loves Learning initiative, the Ontario Auto Ranch Subaru wanted to fuel the next generation of innovators by making science accessible.”This year Ontario Auto Ranch noticed Annex Charter School. Todd McCurry loves to spread the generosity of Auto Ranch throughout the community; to the small schools, like Annex Charter School, that often times don’t have the opportunities or necessities they need as a bigger school would. Going from lower income and smaller budgets to old worn-out books and outdated equipment. Ontario Auto Ranch felt honored to share the love with an outer area of their community at Annex Charter School. Matt Lunstrum, sales manager, at Ontario Auto Ranch stated, “Subaru gives back and we want to give back with them.” With 200 books given to Annex Charter, Principal Steve Bishop shared that this is the first encounter with Ontario Auto Ranch and they are more than grateful to the Auto Ranch team and Subaru. Some of us forget that things like this are a very big help to a little place like Annex. Principal Bishop expressed that the books given to them are all non-fictional, and all though fiction is fun for the imagination, these books will help the kids grow and learn in mathematics and science.

Five-Generations Share The Love

Pictured above: Ava-2, Kandice-31, Toni-55, Dianne-73, Jo-93In May 2018 our family was invited to participate in a five-generation photo opportunity at Ontario Auto Ranch Subaru. My first thought was, “How will I ever have time to make four schedules work?” I then decided to just do it and not stress over it. I hadn’t had a generation photo with my daughter, only my son … so this would be perfect. In fact, it ended up being a treasured memory and photo my family now holds close. My Great-Grandma Jo is the first generation and I am the fourth (pictured above). With 93 years from generation one to five, you can imagine the love and positive feedback we received on social media. Grandma was most thrilled she got to model beside a new Subaru. You should have seen her face light up when she got to sit inside it. Priceless. Shockingly, my grandma’s health took a turn for the worse in September and just over a week later we lost her. We are all very blessed to have had these taken. The pictures had given her great joy – her entire living room was filled with photos of kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and great-great grandkids. That was her greatest accomplishment and she was proud of all of us. Not only did Ontario Auto Ranch Subaru take the pictures, but they made a special printed photo album for Grandma Jo, which she shared with everyone. Thank you, Ontario Auto Ranch Subaru for “sharing the love.”Kandice Dickinson
